Logica has created Spark Innovation Centres in the US, Portugal, India, the Netherlands, the UK, Sweden and Denmark. These centres showcase Logica’s innovative solutions in key industry sectors, and each centre focuses on a distinct domain.
Spark Innovation Centres provide a focused environment for people to ideate and find innovative solutions to today's business problems, and gain valuable insight into the technologies of the future. At the same time, these centres demonstrate Logica’s ingenuity in identifying white spaces for innovation and delivering solutions that address them. In these centres we show our clients the possibilities of the future.

Spark Centre in Portugal

Located in Lisbon, this centre focuses on Energy & Utilities. It comprises of a set of vanguard technology demonstrations for the electricity, water and gas industries. The solutions combine competencies in areas such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure and Intelligent Grids, wind-farms management systems, Geographical Information Systems, Asset Management and Metering & Billing solutions (SAP-ISU and UBS, a vertical solution based on Oracle technology). |
The Energy & Utilities Innovation Centre has been created with three primary goals:
- Promote Logica’s technology and know-how for electricity, water and gas industries
- Allow local and international clients, partners and universities to experiment with this technology developed in Portugal
- Integrate in the same room a series of showcases which demonstrate Logica´s vision and offerings for current and future utilities challenges.

Spark Centres in India

In India there are two Spark Innovation Centres - one in Bangalore, and the other in Chennai.

The Centre at Bangalore has the theme “mobility”. It showcases mobility solutions of the future in areas such as intelligent transportation, sustainability, auto insurance and advertising, all under one roof.

The Bangalore Spark Centre has been setup to:
- Create and promote Logica’s technology, solutions & know-how in key mobile solution
- Allow local and international clients, partners & universities to experiment with the technology developed in that centre
- Integrate in the same room a series of showcases which demonstrate integrated Logica’s vision and offer for current and future industry challenges

The Centre at Chennai focuses on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). It showcases solutions that address multiple modes of transport such as rail, road and air and their inter-modality. It further strengthens Logica’s commitment to innovation in enhancing safety, efficiency, reliability, accessibility and sustainability of integrated transport systems.

The Spark Innovation Centre in UK is situated in London. This Centre hosts solutions on combined themes. Some of the demonstrations in this Centre are in the areas of sustainability, energy, smart metering and social networking.

The Spark Innovation Centre in Netherlands is focused on Mobile Payments and is located in Amstelveen. Some of the demonstrations available here are in the areas of Payments, Smart Table, Smart Parking, biometric services, augmented reality and E-Mobility.

The Spark Innovation Centre in the US is located in Logica’s North American headquarters, in Houston. It offers clients a fresh perspective on their business challenges and allows Logica to demonstrate its talents, skills, and creativity. The centre showcases its activities in the areas of Augmented Reality, smart manufacturing, optimisation of work execution and resources, optimization of transportation network and risk management. And so helping businesses to create a more environmentally sustainable world.

Spark Centre in Sweden

The Spark Innovation Centre in Sweden is situated in Stockholm. It is focused on the Next-Generation Workplace, to capture greater clarity and synchronization of information-sharing at work. Although there is more convergence among various information platforms and media today, there is the hurdle of ‘human latency’. This is when information does not reach the right person at the right time due to information silos and incompatibility in platforms. The centre is working to address these issues for a smoother work-flow and transfer of information.

Spark Centre in Denmark

The Spark Innovation Centre in Denmark is located in Copenhagen. It was inaugurated in April 2010. This centre focuses mainly on security and healthcare solutions. Security solutions include face recognition, secure unified access and data loss prevention. While its Healthcare solutions include clinical workflow and integration technology. The centre is designed with newest technology and design furniture to give the best surroundings for creative and innovative thinking.
